This online exhibit could not have been made without the help, guidance and advice of the University Archives at Texas State University and Reba Jensen in the digitization lab, who processed and digitized the Oscar Strahan papers. Programing support and customization of this Omeka site was provided by programmer Jason Long.
This online exhibit was written and designed by Eric Robertson-Gordon, Graduate Assistant and student in the Public History program at Texas State University, in the summer of 2019.

Addendum September 2020: Glen McMicken, former SWT Assistant Track and Field Coach, helped decipher some of the writing on the 1907 postcard.
"Strahan graduated from Denison (Iowa) High School in 1909, and I believe that is the Denison High School team on the front. His sister, Jenna, was a 1904 grad from the same high school.
I believe it should read Missouri Valley, then Wall Lake (birthplace of Andy Williams!), then Vail, and finally Manilla. Those were four high schools in the Denison area, or at least close enough for them to have played."
The transcription has been updated to reflect this information. Thank you, Mr. McMicken! --KT, University Archivist
